I enjoyed this short story. I wasn’t expecting much since it was a kindle freebie, but I was pleasantly surprised.

After the cyborgs revolted against the humans they were enslaved to, they now search for answers to their origin. X109GI, or Joe, lets himself be captured by the military to find answers, there he meets Chloe, who was sent to collect samples from him. They escape together and, well sexy cyborg times happen.

I was really intrigued by the whole cyborg thing; originally human, they still retain some emotions, while being half machine. Eve Langlais created great characters here, I really felt for them and they grew as the story progressed.

A quick, amusing read, set in space, with a tall, handsome cyborg. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment.
