Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover was okay, meh really. I’m giving it 3.5 stars.

Georgiana is a great and strong character, I did like her a lot. While she is Chase, one of London’s most powerful men, she is also Lady Georgiana, who must marry to secure a future for her daughter. Trying to get the ton’s acceptance, after her past scandal, she gets help from Duncan West, a powerful newspaperman, to better her social image.

I got so tired of Duncan’s endless insistence on ‘rescuing’ her; while the thought is nice, he constantly belittles her by making it clear that he doesn’t trust her judgement, choices in life, and he thinks that he knows what is best for her. He even goes so far as to actually place her in danger, all for his pointless pursuit of destroying Chase, who he blames for all of Georgiana’s problems, again not trusting her own judgement, or respecting her right to choose a life that involves Chase.

Another thing that bothered me, is that, even if the heroine is no longer a virgin (Georgiana was ruined when he was sixteen and has a daughter), she still has to remain 'virginal' for the hero. Georgiana is such a strong and powerful character, what with her owning a gambling hell, and having incriminating information on almost all of London's important people.
Couldn’t she enjoy herself and live life as well?
